Prcanj
The tiny but charming town of Prcanj is located only a couple of kilometers from
Kotor. First time mentioned in 1222, in the letters about construction of St Johan
Church, this cute town used to be a home to the many wealthy families thanks to
the successful maritime trade in the past.
Ancient architecture, idyllic coastline and imposing palaces makes this town one
of the favorite touristic hotspots to visit while exploring the unique gems of Boka
Bay.
If we have to choose between numerous landmarks of Prcanj – which one you just
have to visit, we would choose the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
This marvelous temple, located in the middle of the seaside promenade, took even
more than 120 years to be built.
This venetian baroque style Catholic Church, thanks to its outstanding unique
features, is listed under the protection of UNESCO in the territory of Kotor natural
and cultural heritage site.
